Remember The Past, Celebrate The Present, Make A Difference In The Future.

About
On May 12, 2014 Officer Stephen Arkell of the Brentwood Police Department made the ultimate sacrifice after responding to a domestic disturbance call on Mill Pond Road.   He was shot and killed while doing what he did best, helping people within his community.
In 2015, the 1st Annual Officer Stephen Arkell Community 5k was established in Brentwood NH to honor and remember the selfless sacrifice of Officer Arkell.  Celebrated by over 2,000 participants and almost 40 local sponsors, the day was a huge success.

Following the race, in cooperation with the Portsmouth Rotary Club, 100% of the proceeds were used to establish the Stephen Arkell Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund will benefit students of Exeter High School, where Officer Stephen Arkell attended. These students must demonstrate the same sense of community, volunteerism and love of athletics that Stephen possessed.

In 2016, we were happy to award the first ever Officer Stephen Arkell Memorial Scholarship. Please visit our Scholarship page for a downloadable application. Let this be a day for the community to come together, help one another, and remember a beloved friend. Thank you all for your continued support!

The Charitable Division of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth is an IRS approved 501(c)3 organization, and your donations to the fund are tax-deductible to
the extent allowed by federal law. (www.portsmouthrotary.org0).
